The Schools Forum is a statutory body made up mainly of headteachers and governors from South Gloucestershire.

The Schools Forum set out:

  • how the membership of the schools forum should be decided
  • requirements for meetings of forums and their proceedings
  • financial issues that forums must be consulted on

Members of the public are welcome to attend Schools Forum meetings. If you would like to observe, contact Caroline Churchill by email at caroline.churchill@southglos.gov.uk.

Membership

The Schools Forum draws representatives from schools, governors and non-school members. This includes special schools, alternative provision settings, post-16 settings, diocesan members and trade union representatives. Council officers also attend to support and advise the forum.

The constitution is reflected upon annually to ensure that it best represents the proportion of children and young people in each setting designation across South Gloucestershire. Representatives are nominated by their sector to represent the sector’s interests and views within the School’s Forum discussions.
