The building control process checks that buildings are properly designed and constructed, in accordance with Building Regulations and associated legislation. This ensures the health, safety, welfare and convenience of people who use them.

Site inspection notifications during the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation

As a result of the Government’s announcement of measures to minimise the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), it has been necessary to review our current inspection arrangements for work under construction.

We are taking all reasonable actions to maintain social distancing for our surveyors. Your project specific inspection regime will indicate the inspection stages that you should notify us of during construction.

You should ensure that you notify us at commencement and when all other inspection stages have been reached. Contact us on 01454 868004 if you need a further copy of this or for further advice.

You should continue to notify us of each inspection stage either by email to or using our online form.

You will be asked whether anyone at the site has been advised to self-isolate or if there are vulnerable people at the property. We will decide on a case by case basis whether a site inspection is essential and will contact you if we are unable to attend.

These temporary arrangements will remain in place until such time that the Government advises us that normal business arrangements can resume.
