Requesting help with care and support can be a big decision. If you are not sure what is available locally, you can explore our adult social care information and advice pages.

How to request help

You can request help for care and support online, by phone or by email.

To do it online you will need to set up an online account with us if you do not already have one. Find out how to set up an online account with us.

Asking someone to help manage your online services

If you need help managing your services online, such as requesting equipment or ordering meals, you can ask for someone you know to act on your behalf.

Once you have set up an account go to ‘Your profile’ to send the request to the person you would like to help you.

They will receive an email informing them about your request. If they do not already have a South Gloucestershire Council online account, they will need to set one up before they can see your request and respond.

If the person you nominate does not live in South Gloucestershire they should still select the ‘Resident’ option when creating their new account.

What happens next

It will be completed by someone with experience and understanding, usually either a social worker, a social work assistant, or an occupational therapist.
