You can access some of our services online by setting up a South Gloucestershire online account.

This should save you time and help you avoid having to call us or visit our offices.

It also helps us to save money, which we can use to provide essential services to local residents.

How to create an account

If you don’t already have a South Gloucestershire Council online account, you can create one using the button below.

You need an email address and will be asked to set up an account password. This should be 8 or more characters long and have at least one each of the following:

  • a lowercase letter
  • an uppercase letter
  • a number
  • a symbol

Once you have created an account, it is not possible to change the email address associated with it.

If you lose access to the email address you set your account up with you will need to set up a new account using a different email address.

Verification

Once you have entered your details, you will be sent an email giving you a code that you need to enter to verify your email address.

If you do not receive the verification email within 10 minutes, check your email spam or junk folders before attempting to register again.

Do not close or refresh the sign up page after requesting the verification code as this will invalidate the code. If this happens you will need to request another code.

Once your account is verified, you can sign in to your account from the ‘Sign in’ link on any of our web pages.

Asking someone to act on your behalf

If you need help managing our services online, you can ask for someone you know to act on your behalf.

To do this you must first set up an account with your email address and a password. Once logged in to your account, you can then send an ‘Act on behalf of’ request to the person you would like to help you.

The person you ask to act on your behalf will receive an email informing them about your request. The email includes a link for them to log in to their account and either accept or decline your request.

If they do not already have a South Gloucestershire Council online account, they will need to set one up before they can see your request and respond.

If the person you nominate does not live in South Gloucestershire they should still select the ‘Resident’ option when creating their new account.
