Help with nappies
Disposable nappy collections
We offer a free disposable nappy collection service to help families with children under 5 years old.
If your child is over 5, you should apply for the hygiene waste collection service.
Once you have applied for nappy collections we will send you a roll of bags. You can then order more bags when needed.
We will collect the bags every fortnight.
How to apply
You will need to sign in or create a South Gloucestershire Council account.
Alternatively you can:

- call us on 01454 868000
What happens next
We will send you a confirmation email.
You can find your collection dates using our collection dates lookup, or the South Gloucestershire Council app which can also send notifications and reminders to help you keep track.
On your collection day, tie the bags securely and place them next to your recycling. Nappy bags are collected by a different vehicle to the one that collects your recycling.
The service will automatically stop when your child is 5 years old. It can be extended at any point for additional children.
Please cancel the service when you no longer need it.
Reusable nappy scheme
Switching to reusable nappies, even part time, will help reduce your waste and save you money in the long term.
Our birth to potty kit (provided by Bambino Mio) contains everything you need to get started with reusable nappies.
We buy these in bulk so we can pass the savings on to you and help make the switch to reusable nappies as easy as possible.
Each Bambino Mio birth to potty kit costs £229.70 and contains:
- 15 all-in-one nappies in a variety of designs
- 50 biodegradable nappy liners
- 300g nappy cleanser
- 1 reusable wet nappy bag
- 1 nappy bucket
- 2 laundry bags
Our booster kits (provided by Bambino Mio) are a great way to make the switch to reusable nappies if you just want to use them part time or expand your existing kit.
Each booster kit costs £94.30 and contains:
- 6 all-in-one nappies in a variety of designs
- 50 biodegradable nappy liners
- 100g nappy cleanser
How to order
