South Gloucestershire Council online account and digital services
We have launched our new online account. It is similar to accounts that you may already have with your bank or for online shopping.
The online account enables you to track the progress of any requests, saving you time and helping you avoid having to call us or visit our offices. It also helps us to save money, which we can use to provide essential services to local residents.

Verification
Once you have entered your details, you will be sent a verification email. This will include a code that you need to enter to verify your email address and create your account. If you do not receive the verification email within 10 minutes, check your email spam or junk folders before attempting to register again. Do not close or refresh the sign up page after requesting the verification code as this will invalidate the code. If this happens you will need to request another code. Once your account is verified, you can sign in to your account from the ‘Sign in’ link on any of our website pages.
Types of account
There are three different types of account available.
A Staff account is for council staff or councillors acting on behalf of a resident or business.
A Resident account is for South Gloucestershire residents to access services relating to them as an individual.
A Business account is for businesses and organisations within South Gloucestershire.
Asking someone to act on your behalf
If you need help to manage your services with the council, you can ask for someone you know to act on your behalf. To do this you must first set up an account with your email address and a password. Once logged in to your account, you can then send an ‘Act on behalf of’ request to the person you would like to help you.
The person you ask to act on your behalf will receive an email informing them about your request. The email includes a link for them to log in to their account and either accept or decline your request. If they do not already have a South Gloucestershire Council online account, they will need to set one up before they can see your request and respond.
If the person you nominate does not live in South Gloucestershire, they should still select the ‘Resident’ option when creating a new account to manage your services with the council on your behalf.
