Public Access services for planning, building control and licensing applications will be unavailable 27 and 28 April due to essential maintenance.

The thermal imaging cameras are currently unavailable to borrow for new customers, as we work through the people who are already on the waiting list.

We have purchased thermal imaging cameras which can be borrowed from libraries so you can find out exactly where your home is losing energy. The easy-to-use cameras allow you to inspect your home with infrared technology to find insulation and heat loss problems around your home.

Using the camera to help you identify home improvements may help you stay warmer in winter and cooler during the summer period.

Common culprits for heat loss include:

  • doors
  • windows
  • exterior outlets (letterboxes)
  • connections to the outside of your home such as cables or plumbing fixtures

You need to be a library member to borrow a thermal camera.
