Equipment to help with daily tasks
Equipment, tools or technology such as grab rails, toilet frames, bed raisers, adapted cutlery and electronic devices can help you to remain independent in your own home.
If you need more specialist equipment or adaptations (for example, a stairlift) you will require an assessment. Find our information for adults, children and families pages for more information.
How to help yourself
If you do not have long term needs due to an illness or disability or you would like to buy your own equipment, find advice and guidance our being independent at home page.
This includes information on adaptations, equipment and self-help.
When we may be able to help you
If you are over 18 years old with long term needs due to an illness or disability, you can request equipment to help with the daily tasks you find difficult.
On the next page you can check if you meet the criteria to request equipment.
If you are a parent or carer and need an assessment for your child, visit our SEND Local Offer page.
