Moving into or out of a business property
You must let us know if you move into or out of a business property, or if the property you own is occupied or vacant. This is so we can correctly determine your business rates liability.
If you are a tenant, let us know when you have:
- moved out of a property
- taken on a new lease for a property
If you are a landlord, let us know when:
- your tenant moves out of a property
- you have a new tenant for a property
- you have sold a property
- you have purchased a property
You do not have to pay business rates if your property is empty for 3 months. Find out about current business rates relief and exemptions.
