Public Access services for planning, building control and licensing applications will be unavailable on Saturday 6 June, 9am to 2pm.

The school admissions portal will be unavailable Sunday 7 June, 9am to midday.

A third-party mapping service outage is also affecting some online forms including missed collections.

Check when your next waste or recycling collection is due, view the details of your garden waste subscription (if subscribed), and view or print your collection calendar.

We also have the South Gloucestershire Council app you can use to check your waste collection dates on your mobile or tablet. It can send notifications and reminders to help you keep track.

Collection dates are not available for flats with communal bins.

When we collect and how often

Our teams are out collecting every day of the year including bank holidays, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Normal collections are made:

Weekly

  • recycling (boxes, white bag and blue bags)
  • food waste (food bin)

Fortnightly

  • garden waste (green bin)

Three-weekly

  • general waste (black bin)

Remember to:

  • put your bins, boxes and bags out by 7am on your collection day
  • tie the blue bags for soft plastics with a double knot
  • make sure the bin lids are closed
  • put your bins, boxes and bag away again as soon as possible after collection

If you have health or mobility problems and need help to put your recycling and bins out, you can request an assisted collection.
