Check your collection dates
Check when your next recycling or bin collection is due, view the details of your garden waste subscription (if subscribed), and view or print your collection calendar.
We also have the South Gloucestershire Council app you can use to check your waste collection dates on your mobile or tablet. It can send notifications and reminders to help you keep track.
Collection dates are not available for flats with communal bins.
When we collect and how often
Our teams are out collecting every day of the year including bank holidays, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Normal collections are made:
Weekly
- recycling (green boxes, white bag* and blue bags*)
- food waste (food bin)
*The new recycling bags will be delivered in phases to all households by May 2026. You can start using them straight away. Find out what goes in your recycling boxes and bags.
Fortnightly
- general waste (black bin*)
- garden waste (green bin)
*From May 2026 your black bin will be collected once every 3 weeks. Find out more about three-weekly black bin collections.
Remember to:
- put your bins, boxes and bags out by 7am on your collection day
- tie the soft plastic collection bags with a double knot
- make sure the bin lids are closed
- put your bins, boxes and bag away again as soon as possible after collection
If you have health or mobility problems and need help to put your bin out you can request an assisted collection.
