Travel options for new communities
New communities offer many places to explore. We support residents to travel actively and sustainably, working with developers to fund and deliver residential travel plans.
Travel plans support healthier, safer communities and help cut congestion, carbon emissions and air pollution.
If you have recently moved to a new housing development, find out about the range of options available to you.
Around Your Way
We create residential travel plans with Travelwest as part of an initiative called Around Your Way.
The type of support available includes:
- travel information guides on local walking and cycling routes, public transport and nearby amenities
- events, such as guided walks, bike servicing and marking, adult cycle training, and Travelwest roadshows
- free or discounted offers including bike loans, bike checks, car clubs, adult cycle training and personalised travel planning
Smarter Travel vouchers are available in some of our new housing developments, and are funded by developers. These help residents buy what they need to support active or sustainable travel.
Smarter Travel vouchers
Each household can claim back up to £150 for items purchased to support walking, cycling or public transport, for example:
- walking and cycling clothing or equipment
- maps
- bus or train season tickets
- car club membership
Vouchers are included in the resident welcome packs. Details on eligible items and how to claim are included with the voucher. One claim is allowed per household.
More information can be found in the terms and conditions.
