We are working with our partners Network Rail, Great Western Railway and West of England Combined Authority (WECA) to prepare a strategic masterplan for Bristol Parkway train station and the surrounding area.

About the masterplan

The aim is to deliver a vision on how the station can be improved so it becomes a better gateway to the local area and the whole of South Gloucestershire.

The objectives are to:

  • create a multi-functional station
  • improve the customer experience at the station
  • improve facilities at the station
  • improve access to the station
  • improve sustainable travel around the immediate local area
  • bring wider benefits to the local community
  • start wider regeneration of the area

Engagement and consultation

Building the evidence base – October 2021 to January 2022

We have collated and analysed relevant information about the area. We have used this information to assess the current and potential future situation and look at what opportunities could be created.

Early engagementJanuary 2022 to March 2022

We have been meeting with key stakeholders, including local members, town and parish councils, landowners, employers and community groups to introduce them to the project and to listen to their views.

We are developing concepts for the masterplan.

Next steps April 2022 to Summer 2022

We plan to further develop the masterplan and undertake wider public engagement in the summer. The public engagement will be promoted widely nearer the time.

We will keep this page updated as the project progresses. If you have any queries about this project, you can email regeneration@southglos.gov.uk
