OSSR map and calculator
We keep a database of our open spaces, sport and recreation (OSSR) facilities which is presented on an interactive map.
It helps us assess the extent and distribution of existing open spaces to inform the requirements for new housing developments.
The database is updated on a regular basis to record lost, new, or changed provision to ensure the map is as accurate as possible.
Calculate development requirements
You can use our calculator to determine the minimum requirements for new developments as outlined in Policy CS24.
Appendix 5 of the Core Strategy sets out the categories of public open space provision, and the spatial standards per person and per type of residential development, based on anticipated future population.
To use the calculator, add the number of dwellings to column D. The table will then calculate the public open space (POS) requirements for the associated population.
