Charges apply for the pest control advisory visit and treatment at your home. For businesses and commercial properties we also offer advisory visits, one-off treatments and regular inspections at competitive rates, which are available on request.

What we charge

The charges below are for the different pest control services.

Rats or mice

£90 for advisory visit only. A further £90 for treatment if requested at the time of the advisory visit (a total of £180).

Treatment requested at a later date (after an advisory visit) will be charged at £180. This is in addition to the £90 paid for the advisory visit (a total of £270).

Treatment includes a maximum of 3 visits. If you require further treatment there will be an additional charge of £90 per visit.

You are entitled to a 50% discount on advice and treatment for rats only if you are on certain benefits.

Wasps or hornets

During peak season:

  • £120 for advisory visit and treatment of one nest (we do not offer an advisory visit only)
  • additional nests treated during your visit will be charged at £60 per nest

Additional charges may apply outside of peak season. Variation in wasp seasons depends highly on weather and other factors and will be publicised at the time of the end of wasp season.

Wasp and hornet treatments include a revisit within 7 days if the nest has not been destroyed. Further treatments after 7 days will be charged at the full rate.

Fleas

£90 for advisory visit only.

£327 an hour for treatment. If the treatment does not take a full hour then you will only be charged for part of the hour (for example half an hour would cost £163.50).

Cockroaches

£90 for advisory visit only.

£283 an hour for treatment. If the treatment does not take a full hour then you will only be charged for part of the hour (for example half an hour would cost £141.50).

Bed Bugs

£90 for advisory visit only.

£327 an hour for treatment. If the treatment does not take a full hour then you will only be charged for part of the hour (for example half an hour would cost £163.50).

Cluster flies

£90 advisory visit only.

£328 an hour for treatment. If the treatment does not take a full hour then you will only be charged for part of the hour (for example half an hour would cost £164).

Other insects

Including: ants, carpet beetles and moths.

£90 advisory visit only.

£328 an hour for treatment. If the treatment does not take a full hour then you will only be charged for part of the hour (for example half an hour would cost £164).

Squirrels

£90 advisory visit only.

£655 for up to two-week treatment.

Birds, moles or bees

£90 for advice only.

We do not provide treatment.

Out of hours treatment

A pre-booked treatment out of normal office hours will be charged at an additional £90 an hour for each officer.

Benefits that give you a discount

A discount is only available to South Gloucestershire Council residents for pest control advice and treatment for rats. It does not apply for any other pests.  

You are entitled to a 50% discount on advice and treatment for rats if you are on any of the following benefits:  

  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit and you are not working
