Council car parks
You need to pay to park in certain council car parks.
When using our car parks where charges apply you must always register your stay on arrival, even if you only intend to stay for up to 30 minutes.
All car parks are different, so check the signs for local parking restrictions.

If you use an electric vehicle charging bay in any of the car parks where parking charges apply you must pay for parking as well.
Motorcycle parking is free in the designated motorcycle bays. Charges apply in all other bays.
Standard tariff
There is no charge for stays up to 30 minutes, but you must register your stay on arrival.
You can extend your stay by using any of the payment options. If you extend past 30 minutes you will need to pay the full charge from the time you arrived.
The following charges apply Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm excluding bank holidays:
Up to 30 minutes – free
Up to 1 hour – 80p
Up to 2 hours – £1.40
Up to 4 hours – £3.20
Over 4 hours – £4.20
1 week – £16.80
Season tickets are available via the MiPermit website subject to availability.
Blue Badge holders can park for free for up to 4 hours if displaying a valid Blue Badge and time clock. You must still register your stay. Reduced charges apply for stays over 4 hours. Over 4 hours costs £1.10, and 1 week costs £4.20.
Short stay tariff
Different charges apply for stays over 2 hours at St Mary Street Car Park in Thornbury and Bank Road Car Park in Kingswood. Up to 3 hours costs £3.20, and up to 4 hours costs £5.30.
Blue Badge holders can park for free for up to 4 hours if displaying a valid Blue Badge and time clock. You must still register your stay.
Station tariff
The following charges apply 24 hours a day, including bank holidays at Abbey Wood Train Station Car Park and Parkway North Park and Ride:
£2.80 per calendar day.
Blue Badge holders can park for free if displaying a valid Blue Badge and time clock.
How to register and pay
You can register your stay, and pay using the:
- machine in the car park (payment is by card or contactless only)

- MiPermit website

When using the MiPermit app or website, you can choose to do it with or without creating an account.
Do not scan any QR codes or barcodes to pay for your parking. Payment can be made safely and securely by using the options listed above.
