Active travel grant

Organisations in South Gloucestershire can apply for an active travel grant of up to £1,000 to help them promote cycling to and from their sites.

We have already distributed more than 20 active travel grants to encourage staff and volunteers to leave their cars at home.

The grants are funded through the council’s Climate and Nature Emergency Action Plan budget.

Who can apply

The funding is available to all community groups and businesses with under 250 employees in South Gloucestershire.

The money must be used to purchase specific items, such as electric bikes or fold-up bikes. Match funding is not required.

The closing date for applications is 31 May 2024.

What happens next

Applications are reviewed and assessed. The highest scoring applications will be awarded a grant. Only one grant per organisation.

Organisations that are successful will be required to provide monitoring information and evidence of the items purchased.
