Things to do and see in Staple Hill

Page Park

Discover Page Park, the green heart of Staple Hill. All our parks and playgrounds are now open again so it’s the perfect time to visit. With its impressive pavilion, known locally as the clock tower, and new café and toddlers’ play area, Page Park is ideal for a day out with the family. The park, which was donated to the people of Staple Hill in 1910 by Arthur William Page, also has a splendid band stand, tennis courts, a bowling green and sports fields. The Heritage Lottery Fund Park for People programme awarded a £1.6 million grant in 2015 to us and the Friends of Page Park to help restore and improve the park.

Staple Hill Library

Book your visit to Staple Hill’s modern library. At the eastern end of the high street on Broad Street, Staple Hill Library has a great range of books, audio books, and DVDs. To keep you and our staff safe, you will need to book an appointment ahead of your visit. Find out how to book an appointment and other information about our libraries on our changes to library services during COVID-19 page.

Bristol and Bath Railway Path

Combine an off-road cycle ride on the Bristol and Bath Railway Path with a trip to Staple Hill High Street. Stock up on snacks and bike accessories, stop off for a coffee and enjoy other shops and facilities. The railway path is a short cycle ride away – experience cycling through the mighty Staple Hill Tunnel with its echoing stone walls. Built in the 1830s to serve the original railway line, the tunnel is a third of a mile long.
