Reading groups
Reading groups are a great way for people who enjoy reading to get together and relax whilst sharing thoughts and feelings about books.
Emersons Green Library
- last Thursday of every month at 10.30am
- crime reading group, first Tuesday of every month at 6.30pm
Hanham Library
- first Tuesday of every month at 11am to midday
- third Tuesday of every month at 11am to midday
- second Thursday of every month at 6pm to 7pm
Thornbury Library
- first Friday of every month 2pm to 3pm

Join the library as a reading group
If you run a reading group you can join the library as your reading group. Reading group membership lets you reserve multiple copies of titles and borrow them for longer.
You can join by visiting any South Gloucestershire library. You will need to bring with you identification showing your name and address.
Book clubs
Our book clubs are a great way to enjoy books and make new friends.

‘Talking books’ free weekly book group runs every Tuesday 10.30am to 11.30am, no need to book.
Thornbury Library
‘Have you read?’ free book group runs on the first Friday of every month 2pm to 3pm, no need to book.
Yate Library
‘Have you read?’ free book group runs on the fourth Friday of every month,10.30am to 11.30am.

The Travelling Library of the World
The Travelling Library is a collection of books showcasing stories from around the world including Africa, India, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, the Middle East plus many more.
It has been curated out of personal recommendations provided by the South Gloucestershire Race Equality Network’s members.
