Horse riding
Horse riding is a low impact activity which has many health and wellbeing benefits.
If you are a beginner you can get riding lessons at local stables and riding schools. More experienced riders can take advantage of the horse riding routes on bridleways across South Gloucestershire.
Learning to ride
There are a number of riding schools and stables where you can learn to ride a horse or improve your riding skills. Here are our licenced premises:

Routes
You can ride horses on public rights of way including bridleways, restricted byways and byways open to all traffic. You cannot ride horses on footpaths.

Road safety
It is legal to ride horses on public roads but it can be more dangerous than using bridleways and byways.
The British Horse Society has advice for using the roads safely.
