Helping families thrive grant
Grants are available for community organisations and voluntary groups to help families build financial resilience and improve wellbeing.
You can apply for £500 to £5,000 which can be used for projects that support families to:
- improve budgeting and money management skills
- prepare healthy, affordable meals
- reduce food waste and household costs
- take part in community activities that reduce isolation and improve wellbeing
- connect with local support networks and services
- access essential items or resources during financial hardship
Examples of projects could include cooking classes, budgeting workshops, school uniform exchanges or community cafes. However, we welcome new ideas for different and innovative projects.
This grant is funded through the UK Government’s Crisis and Resilience Fund.

Who can apply
You can apply for this grant if you are a:
- voluntary or community group
- charitable or social enterprise organisation
- town or parish council
- parent teacher associations (PTAs) and other school-based groups

Applications are open until 31 March 2027 or until the funding has been fully allocated.
You must create a registration account online and provide full details of your organisation so that the record can be approved before you apply.

What happens next
Applications will be reviewed twice a month. We aim to notify applicants of the outcome within 4 weeks.
Organisations must use the grant for the purpose detailed in their application within 12 months of the award payment.
After a funded project has finished, organisations will be expected to complete and submit an evaluation form.
