Get involved in local democracy
There are many ways that you can get involved in local democracy.
You can find out about the people who make decisions that affect you and your community, have your say and find out how to get involved.
Get involved
To get involved:
- attend decision making meetings (see below for details)
- join your local community engagement forum
- contact your local councillor to discuss issues that matter to you
- join the South Gloucestershire Youth Board if you are aged between 13 and 19
- comment on council consultations
- join or set up a local Neighbourhood Watch or Good Neighbours Network
- find out about standing for election through the Electoral Commission’s website
Attend decision making meetings
Decision making meetings are open to the public. You are welcome to attend and speak. Journalists sometimes attend which could give your views wider coverage.
