Apply for or renew a garden waste subscription

We offer fortnightly garden waste collections to subscribers. This service is available to all households in South Gloucestershire.

It costs £63 per green bin for a year’s subscription. This is reduced to £31.50 per green bin if you receive certain benefits. 

How to apply

To apply for a garden waste subscription you will need:

• to sign in to your South Gloucestershire Council account
• a debit or credit card
• your National Insurance number to get a discount if you receive certain benefits

If applying for the first time, make sure to tell us you need a new bin delivered to you.

What happens next

Once you have subscribed it may take up to 5 working days to register your details with our collection crews.

For first time subscribers we will deliver your green bin within 10 working days when payment has been received and advise you of your collection day.

Renewals

If there is an email address linked to your subscription, we send an email reminder to let you know when it is due.

Before renewing, make sure your subscription details are fully up to date, for example if you are getting a discount, whether you still qualify for it.

Failure to pay the correct subscription cost will automatically result in the service ending without notice.

Benefits that give you a discount

You are entitled to a 50% discount on the cost of each green bin in your subscription if you receive any of the following benefits:

• Income Support
• Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
• Income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance
• Income-based Employment and Support Allowance 
• Universal Credit and you are not working
