Privacy notice for reporting a problem with a road, footpath or cycleway

This privacy notice relates to the personal information we have collected directly from you via the online form you have submitted for reporting a problem with a road, footpath or cycleway.

- problem with a manhole cover
- pothole or damaged surface
- spillage
- obstruction
- damaged barrier
- problem with a road marking
- empty grit bin
You should be aware that the information we have been provided with in relation to the above service contains only enough information to identify you, it does not include sensitive data about you.
We will use your information according to the UK Data Protection laws by establishing the condition of your consent.
Your information is not transferred and stored in countries outside the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA) for the provision of this service.

We will use your information to deal with the problem you have reported, whilst complying with the established lawful conditions.
For example, we may contact you to ask for more information about where the highways problem is.
Who we can share your information with
We will share your information with the relevant team in South Gloucestershire Council so that we can deal with the problem you have reported.
We may also share your information with others outside of the council. For example, regulators and other public organisations for the detection and prevention of crime.
How long we will keep your information
We will keep your information until the problem you reported is resolved.
We may keep anonymised information about our service to help us improve them in the future.
Your rights
You have a number of rights relating to your information.
For example to see what we hold about you, to ask us to share it with another party, ask us to update incorrect or incomplete details, to object to or restrict processing of it or to make a complaint about how we are handling it.
