The global climate is in a state of breakdown, resulting in an emergency affecting people and nature. We need to urgently prepare for the local impacts of a changing climate, reduce our carbon emissions and protect and restore nature.

This is why we are making The Big Switch.

We are switching how we use and generate energy to help our transition to be carbon neutral by 2030.

We are switching how we manage land to increase local biodiversity and store carbon, and we are switching how we plan for the future to prepare for a dramatically different climate, especially in terms of extreme heat, rainfall and sea level rise.

Our vision is for a climate resilient South Gloucestershire with a thriving low carbon economy and lifestyles, which are reflected in our travel choices, homes, businesses and communities where nature can flourish.

We can all play our part and, together, we can make a big difference.
