On 7 April a letter was sent to the Planning Inspectorate on behalf of the West of England authorities (Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol City, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire) which formally confirmed the withdrawal of the Joint Spatial Plan (JSP) from the examination process. A copy of this letter can be found on the Joint Planning West of England website.

South Gloucestershire will continue to work with the West of England authorities and WECA, as well as with other relevant bodies, to plan positively on strategic cross-boundary matters and to progress with work on joint evidence base studies during 2020. Further details on the timetable and work programme will be published in due course.
