Area of outstanding natural beauty
The Cotswolds National Landscape is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) looked after by us in partnership with a number of other organisations.
An area of outstanding natural beauty is land protected by the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000. It protects the land to conserve and enhance its scenic beauty.
We work together with the Cotswold National Landscape board to make sure the area is protected through our planning policies.
You can find out more about visiting the AONB in South Gloucestershire on the Cotswold National Landscape website.
