Abbotswood Action Group

We are a volunteer and community led group, working to support the needs of Abbotswood and the wider community. Community drop in resources are still available via email or telephone. We also offer Take 5 4 U home packages that provide activities to support health and wellbeing. There is also a pen pal service to tackle loneliness.

Acton Aid

Support group for the parish of Iron Acton. Every household in the parish has been provided with our Hotline Number which is permanently manned on a rota basis by volunteer helpers.

Age UK South Gloucestershire

Age UK South Gloucestershire supporters older people (over 50) with information and benefits advice as well as befrieinding.  All of these services are currently available over the telephone and Age UK also has a national telephone line, Call in Time, where people can chat to someone if they are feeling isolated or lonely.

Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society is a national Charity providing support to people affected by Dementia. During the current Covid-19 situation, we are able to offer telephone support and provide information to anyone concerned about memory loss. We are also running a number of virtual groups.

AssistPlus CIC

ASSISTPLUS CIC is a Bradley Stoke based organisation which seeks to support military veterans living and working in South Gloucestershire. We serve and provide support to ex-Servicemen and women of the armed forces and their immediate families. Volunteers welcome.

Aust Parish Council has assisted with setting up support within three villages in the Parish – Littleton-upon-Severn, Elberton and Aust. Each village has a network of volunteers to assist.

BGSW Gloucester Probation Trust

Gloucester Probation trust usually carries out community payback in the Gloucestershire area to various beneficiaries. Due to the current pandemic, BAU has stopped. We are looking at utilising our vehicles with drivers to help  people in the Gloucester area who may need it most and can deliver a wide range of services.
