We started advertising on our website in 2015 to raise income. This goes towards local services and provides advertising of interest to our residents at no cost to us.

To do this we partner with the Council Advertising Network (CAN) who find suitable advertising that can be used on council websites across the UK.

Our website advertising policy

All adverts must follow the CAP code stated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) and must not conflict with our aims and priorities.

All adverts must:

  • be legal, decent, honest, and truthful
  • not bring us or advertising into disrepute
  • follow the code
  • respect the rules of fair competition

Advertising will be subject to the code of practice on local government publicity and the requirements of the Financial Services Authority.
