Privacy notice for Covid-19 rapid test bookings

This privacy notice relates to the personal information we have collected directly from you via the online booking system you have used to request a Covid-19 rapid test (also known as a lateral flow test).
We will use your information according to the UK Data Protection laws.
How we will use your information
To support the Covid-19 rapid testing, South Gloucestershire Council are managing the bookings for the NHS testing roll-out.
In order to do this, we ask you to provide your:
• email address
• mobile phone number
You must confirm that you are 16 years of age or over, and that you do not have any coronavirus symptoms.
You will be able to state your critical worker role, if applicable.
NHS Test and Trace will separately capture your personal details and any further information required for the test analysis.
How long we will keep your information
The information captured by South Gloucestershire Council is purely for the booking of tests and will not be shared with anyone. Your information will be kept on our UK-based server for a period of six months, so we can resolve any queries with the NHS testing. It will then be securely destroyed.
Your consent and rights
By using this booking system you are giving your consent to take the test and for us to use the personal information you have provided to arrange the test for you.
It is also our legal right to process the information provided in order to manage the booking process. If you do not provide this information, we will be unable to book a test appointment for you, and therefore you will be unable to take the test.
You have a number of rights relating to your information, for example to see what we hold about you, to ask us to share it with another party, ask us to update incorrect or incomplete details, to object to or restrict processing of it or to make a complaint about how we are handling it. If you have given us your permission to use your information you also have the right to withdraw that permission at any time in the future.
